For a while now I've been toying with the blue eye lines as seen popping up in all the glossies, Cara Delevigne's blue lined peepers have been a central point of the blue hue micro trend in this months Company magazine beauty feature, seeing the ocean shades reminded me of the fabulous bargain I snapped up last week in my local Topshop, Louise Gray 'Blink' eyeshadow palette. I was wondering around in a daze amongst the fancy clothes and the neon pink £1-00 sticker pulled me into the make up section!
I've never really been a fan of blue shades around my eyes, reminds me of the 90's blue mascara, however, having a little play I decided I quite enjoyed the two looks above.
If like me you prefer the simple eyeliner look, the thought of piling on the aqua shadow may feel daunting but don't panic, its super easy to gradually introduce the trend into your routine. In the first look, I used a loose MAC pigment (shade 80) smudged along my lower lash line, paired with my usual heavy eyeliner, it wasn't too overpowering. The soft sweep of colour instantly brightens and widens the eye, perfect for early mornings after late nights out!
As an eyeliner addict, the second look was bound to be a winner! Changing my daily black for an electric blue flick looked a little odd to me at first as my eyes didn't seem to look as big as usual, but when I added white pencil to my water line, my eyes popped and my hazel toned iris' seemed to really stand out. A bright flash of colour really jazzes up eye make up, more suited to a relaxed night out with the girls than day to day make up in my opinion. Give it a try, have a play you may surprise yourself and become a huge blue lover!
