Cleansing revamp

Dead Sea Spa Magik Cleansing bar - £4.45 Dr.Hauschka Cleansing Cream - £14.95* Lush Angels on Bare Skin - £6.25

I've not always been a huge fan of a long routine to take of my mask of make up at night, I used to just rely on a quick wipe over with a wet wipe and sleep, however no I spend a good half an hour a night stripping my skin of foundation, cleansing, toning and moisturising. Decleor cleansing milk had always been a favourite of mine, I found it easy enough to use, it smelt great and left my skin feeling soft and fresh. When I starting nearing the end of my bottle of the beloved decleor, I decided I couldn't stick with one cleanser and hope for the best I needed more!

Dead Sea Spa Magik is a brand that I seem to like, I have a fair amount of their products, so when I saw the cleansing bar online in the blue cross sale in January, I popped it in the basket. I haven't really used soaps on my skin since my Clinique bar made my skin become really dry. My skin usually reacts well to products containing dead sea mud, however, when I first used the cleansing bar alongside my usual routine, I felt it made my skin extremely tight and dry, much like the Clinique one. I'm thinking maybe it should be saved for those oily skin days?

Dr. Hauschka is another brand of products that are growing ever bigger in my skincare bag, the moisturising mask is a god send. When using the 'cream' I found it to be a little too thick to use all over my face, its much more like a gritty paste. The smell of the cream is also quite off putting for me, so I use this mainly when my skin is feeling a little dry around my nose and chin areas as it is a brilliant gentle exfoliating cleanser and leaves skin feeling silky smooth. However I wouldn't recommend it as a daily cleanser.

Last week I popped into Lush to visit my lovely friend Holly, but came away having bought a couple of products and with a little pile of samples, naughty me! Angels on Bare Skin is a gentle exfoliating cleanser, packed with ground Almonds, Lavender and rose water. I was really surprised at how little of the mixture you need, a pea sized pinch will cleanse your whole face! I love the fact that this contains actual Lavender flowers, as when you're massaging your face with it the relaxing scent whips around the room. Smell plays a large part in me liking a product, so this cleanser has shot to the top of my skincare products and since using the cleanser daily for almost a week now, Its safe to say, it will be staying there. Paired with Lush's Eau Roma toning water, my skin is feeling fresher and looking brighter.

What are you favourite cleansers?

  1. I just use a regular cleanser by Nivea! I'd love to up to Lush, though.
